MediFilm on TV
Long running medical drama series, Casualty, has chosen MediFilm floor mapping graphics for the new Clinical Decisions Unit on the show.
After seeing the mats in a Midlands hospital, producers contacted MediFilm to provide bespoke products depicting the well knownHolby City logo, and these will feature in future episodes, as the production team work to ensure that the series continues to reflect the current initiatives employed by 'real life' NHS hospitals.
MediFilm director Ed Taylor states that this is a great boost for the company: 'It is a testament to the work we have done with over 60 UK hospitals to have our products used in this way. Casualty has been a TV favourite for 25 years, and has always sought to represent a true to life A+E department. We are really thrilled that the show will be using our graphics, and this certainly helps cement our place as the UK leaders for Visual Management solutions for healthcare environments'.

NHS COLLABORATION TRIUMPHS AT WEST MIDLANDS MEDICAL AND HEALTHCARE AWARDS
NHS demand for the standardisation of infection control in hospitals has helped the healthcare graphics specialist, MediFilm UK, to win the prestigious Award for Partnership with the NHS at the highly competitive West Midlands Medical and Healthcare Business Awards 2010.
Organised by medical technology industry specialist MedilinkWM, the awards shine the spotlight on the success of companies within the Medical Technologies Cluster, supported by Advantage West Midlands, and MediFilm will now go on to represent the region on the national stage at the Medilink UK Awards in March.
MediFilm’s recent collaboration with the Derby Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to develop an antimicrobial worktop guide to the Aseptic Non Touch Technique (ANTT) used by clinical staff, has proved to be an instant hit, with 84 healthcare locations adopting the new ANTT mat since September.
MediFilm Director Eddie Taylor commented: “Our innovative mat has been endorsed by the ANTT organisation at UCLH in London and has just been shortlisted for a National Patient Safety Award, demonstrating its importance in raising standards within the healthcare services. To win this award from MedilinkWM is not just recognition of our collaboration, but it celebrates the commercial success of the product, proving we’re growing our business as well as the market.”
MedilinkWM’s CEO, Tony Davis, added: “West Midlands companies have seen the real commercial benefits of trading within the Medical Technologies market in the last year, which has nurtured innovation, new product development, international sales growth and thriving start-ups. These awards are dedicated to businesses that have achieved exceptional research, innovation, business success, entrepreneurial flair and growth in the sector and the bar has been raised yet again, so it’s an amazing achievement to win.”
